The Headless Palm, set in New Orleans, exposes issues of race relations and police misconduct after Katrina and well before the recent series of shootings of unarmed black men. The incidents involving law enforcement are based on real events. Hurricane Katrina uncovered more than government incompetence under George Bush. It unpeels the layers of self deceit with which our society lives.
